Ever since I was young I’ve been fascinated by “Christmas”
lights. It was tradition for our family to put them up after Thanksgiving. It
was always a thrill to drive by houses that in daylight would look identical,
but at night individuality shined with such distinct personality. When I was
little I loved how tiny the bulb was, yet created so much light. It wasn’t
until a couple years ago that I noticed a trend amongst putting “Christmas”
lights indoors to accent a living space. I think that these lights are
beautiful because they leave an interesting mark, or halo affect, on the space
where it is up against. The color that is projected is usually very warm unless
colored which creates an inviting atmosphere. Most of the time these lights bring me a sense of nostalgia and longing.
