Sun's true colors

A couple of weeks back I remember we hit the subject of light color and how sometimes colors are not what our eyes perceive it to be and along with that, Darren mentioned that the sun was not red. We looked thru the slit of a door and white light was coming through. I am a big follower of the sun and I like observing the sun with my eyes and thru the internet, and it is different colors every time from a bright white like color to a yellow ball of fire. Whenever we look into the sky, we see white little dots that signify the stars and that made me curious as to why our sun looked yellow/red/orange.  I started looking on the internet for what the real color of the sun was and it came out that it was actually white since it contains all colors of the spectrum and there was this image on google as well that proved it. I started reading on how the atmosphere acts like a prism and separates the blue light from the red light and we are mostly left with the red light. I found that very interesting because for many years I got used to the fact that I saw the sun as being orange / yellow and I never really thought to question why.
